  • Miss Felicity
    Principal

    Felicity is the daughter of Elizabeth Fenton and danced at The Elizabeth Fenton School of Dancing since she was 3 years old.

    Felicity took senior examinations and gained her advanced 2 in tap, national and modern as well as intermediate ballet. She followed her mother’s footsteps and gained a place at Doreen Bird college before taking a break and going into the business world.

    Felicity also has gained a NVQ Level 3 in leadership and management and a Diploma in event management. Felicity is trained in child safeguarding

    She has experience in festival competitions and enjoys choreographing for such events.

  • Miss Helen
    Head of Dance
    ISTD D.D.I., D.D.E., (Tap, Modern, Ballet) L.I.S.T.D. (Modern)

    Graduated from Studio La Pointe (SLP) Leeds, with three Associates & a Diploma in Musical Theatre in 2001.

    Helen then went onto performing in several London shows which included Fame and 42nd Street and is now currently teaching for the Elizabeth Fenton School of Dance; Maidenhead. Within the last few years Helen has choreographed and produced many successful shows, also achieving exceptional examination results from her pupils.

    Helen has previously coached numerous students towards their teaching qualifications and is widely recognised for her work amongst her peers and examiners.

    Helen’s choreography has been performed in several festivals, with solos and group performances qualifying for the All England Dance Finals.

  • Miss Fenton
    Assistant Head of Dance & Founder
    R.A.D. Ballet, A.I.S.T.D. (Ballet, Modern, National)

    Trained at Bird College, Sidcup, gaining I.S.T.D. advance examinations and Associates in Imperial Ballet, Modern and National.

    She also has teacher membership of The Royal Academy of Dance. Following a family move to Berkshire, Elizabeth started a village dance school at Sonning on Thames, and was assistant to The Janet Goodier School at Maidenhead.

    Two years later, Elizabeth took over the school of 80 pupils in Maidenhead.

    The school has expanded over the years with the introduction of Modern/Jazz and National dance. Elizabeth is now our main ballet festival teacher, getting pupils to the All England Finals and winning many places at local competitions.

  • Miss Vanessa
    Head of Ballet
    ISTD DDI (Ballet), A.R.A.D. Ballet, AES Diploma in Classical Ballet

    Vanessa trained at the Arts Educational School graduating with a Diploma in Classical Ballet and having attained advance level examinations in R.A.D and ISTD Cecchetti classical ballet and ISTD modern dance.

    She was a member of the Festival Ballet Company (now English National Ballet Company) and Dublin City Ballet Company, the latter as a soloist, before sustaining an injury which ended her dancing career.

    Vanessa then pursued a successful business career. During this time she kept in touch with her dancing roots by designing and delivering free form dance workshops on an ad-hoc and voluntary basis for adults, children and gymnasts and teaching the occasional private ballet lesson

    After 20 years working in the city, Vanessa is delighted to be returning to the performing arts industry as a ballet teacher and will, in parallel with this, be studying to further her classical ballet teaching qualifications

  • Miss Sophie
    Teacher
    R.A.D. Ballet, A.I.S.T.D (Ballet, Modern, Tap, National), L.I.S.T.D (Ballet)

    Sophie Dodwell trained at London College of Dance, gaining Advanced examinations in Imperial and Cecchetti Ballet, National, Modern and later Tap. She has her Associate Diploma in all of these faculties and later gained Licentiate in Imperial Ballet. She is also an affiliate member of the Royal Academy of Dancing.

    Sophie has taught dance in Bristol and Bath, various schools in and around London and dance degree students in Slough. She has choreographed for many shows and festival competitions.

  • Miss Laura
    Ballet Teacher
    R.A.D Ballet

    Laura attended the Elizabeth Fenton School of Dance since she was 4 years old. Here she gained examinations up to and including her ISTD and RAD Advanced 1 ballet

    She also attended the Sue Arkle School of Spanish Dance where she gained her Advanced 2 examination.

    During her time at the school, Laura was a Mid and Senior Associate with the Royal Ballet School. Her performance experience to include the Kirov Ballet Company and English Youth Ballet.

    Laura then attended the Northern Ballet School for three years where she graduated with a National Diploma in Professional Dance.

  • Mr Michell
    Teacher
    DDI (Ballet)

    Michell was born in Brazil and trained at the 'Maria Olenewa State School of Dance' in Rio de Janeiro.

    He enjoyed a successful career as a Classical Ballet/Contemporary Dance Performer in Brazil's leading dance companies, including 'Balé do Teatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro'. Michell was also a assistant teacher at his local dance school 'Slava Goulenko'.

    In 2005 at the Brasilia Dance Seminar, Michell was awarded a scholarship at the London Studio Centre where he studied for three years and toured the UK with the college company. After a brief career in the UK and a break from performing, Michell took the ISTD exams and rejoined the industry, this time focusing on Teaching and Dance Coaching.

  • Miss Dee
    Teacher
    BA Hons Theatre Dance, DDI (Ballet, Tap, Modern), BBO Level 6 Diploma in Dance

    Dee is a talented, exemplary dancer, having started her dance training at The Elizabeth Fenton School of Dance at the age of 4. Dee continued to study through to the age of 18 here, also dancing with youth dance groups such as Berkshire Youth Dance Company.

    After being offered various places with scholarships Dee chose to study for her degree at London Studio Centre. Dee was fortunate to also be able to spend 3 months in New York, USA, studying at The Ailey School and thus experiencing a different life of dance. Returning home, she graduated in 2004 with a 2:1 BA (Hons) in Theatre Dance.

    Finding employment soon after, Dee has been fortunate to have danced with various dance companies including ACE Dance and Music and Union Dance Company, performing various genres of dance from Ballet through to African, touring both nationally and internationally and teaching a very varied range of students.

    Due to injury, Dee sadly had to retire. She is happy to have made a full circle and be back where she started to teach and share her experiences with the students at the school.
